Better Relief VR is a private-pay clinic. Every fee is published below, in plain language, before you book. No referral is required, and your exact programme cost is confirmed with you at your assessment before any block of sessions begins.
Four simple fees. Pick what fits your programme.
All sessions run 45 minutes and are supervised in-clinic by a certified VR Therapy Technician. Fees are in Canadian dollars.
At Better Relief VR, the initial assessment costs $220 CAD, a standard 45-minute session costs $165 CAD, and a 5-session block costs $725 CAD. Better Relief VR is a private-pay clinic and does not require a doctor's referral to book.
Initial clinical assessment
An extended visit to review your history, screen for suitability, and select the right protocol for your goals. Required before your first therapy session.
Standard VR therapy session
A single 45-minute supervised session. The most flexible option if you'd rather not commit to a block up front.
5-session therapy block
Pre-paid package of five 45-minute sessions, the standard building block for most chronic pain, rehab and mental-health programmes.
Follow-up / maintenance session
For clients continuing on a lighter schedule once their main programme is complete, to maintain progress.
What a typical programme costs.
Every programme starts with the $220 assessment, which sets the number of sessions. These are honest ranges built from our typical protocol lengths. Your own plan is confirmed with you at assessment, before you pay for anything beyond it.
Chronic pain management
Typical protocol: assessment plus 8-12 supervised sessions plus maintenance.
Physical rehabilitation
Typical protocol: assessment plus 6-10 sessions plus progress review.
Mental health support
Typical protocol: assessment plus 6-12 sessions plus follow-up.
Cognitive engagement & geriatric care
Typical protocol: assessment plus 4-8 sessions plus caregiver review.
These are estimates only, built from typical protocol lengths and published per-session pricing. Your actual number of sessions depends on your assessment, your goals and how you respond as you go. Your technician and clinic manager will confirm an exact plan and cost with you before you commit to anything beyond the assessment.
What's included in a session.
A full 45-minute in-clinic session, timed and paced to your protocol.
A certified VR Therapy Technician is with you throughout, monitoring and adjusting live.
All equipment, sanitised hygiene covers and session consumables are included in the fee.
Your plan is reviewed and adjusted between sessions based on how you're responding.
Progress notes shared with your physician or care team on request.

How payment works.
Better Relief VR is a private-pay clinic, and no referral is required to book an assessment or begin sessions. You pay directly for your assessment and sessions, and we provide a receipt for every visit.

Common pricing questions.
Do I pay for the assessment separately?
Yes. The $220 initial clinical assessment is billed on its own, before any therapy sessions or blocks. It covers your intake, screening and protocol selection, and determines the programme we recommend for you.
Do 5-session blocks expire?
Block validity and scheduling windows are confirmed at your assessment, so you know exactly how much flexibility you have before you pay for a block.
What if I stop partway through a block?
Talk to our team if your circumstances change. Any adjustment to a partially used block is handled case by case and confirmed with you directly. We do not apply a blanket rule here without discussing your situation first.
Can I pay per session instead of buying a block?
Yes. The standard $165 per-session rate is always available with no commitment. The 5-session block simply works out cheaper per session (≈$145) if you know you'll need several sessions.
Do you bill my insurer directly?
No. We are a private-pay clinic and do not bill insurers directly. We provide a detailed receipt after each visit so you can submit your own claim, and you should confirm your specific coverage with your extended health benefits provider beforehand.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Our cancellation and rescheduling policy is confirmed at your assessment, so there are no surprises if your plans change.
